The gospel—the central message of the Bible—is often made more complicated than it should be. Well-meaning Christians sometimes add traditions, jargon, or personal interpretations that obscure its simplicity. Like Dr. Watson missing the obvious in Sherlock Holmes’ story, many overlook the plain truth: “Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved” (Acts 16:31). Communicating this with clarity is vital, for eternal lives are at stake.

Christians are called to keep the Word of God sharp and precise, like a soldier’s sword or a Marine’s weapon, ready for battle. Effort alone is not enough; the message must hit its target without distraction or distortion. The mission is to share the good news faithfully and clearly, equipping believers to reach the lost with the life-giving truth of salvation.
